When I’m feeling all grey and colourless in winter I am always uplifted by the stunning green of wet lichen. It’s a much underrated jewel of our natural world I think! Our swing – once occupied by swinging children – is now covered in it and looks lovely; I photographed it for this post; http://rossmountney.wordpress.com/2012/09/13/a-sense-of-something-missing/ Although I have to say I prefer the sight of the children!! x

I agree! I had read the post but didn’t notice the lichen… but that’s the way lichen is!

Hmmm…how funny. I would love to have lichen rock in landscaping, but I am not sure about lichen cars.

It’s our neighbour’s car – he rarely uses as he cycles nearly everywhere, but it just made me laugh to see it had lichen growing on it!
