Stepping back in time

Yesterday we stepped back nearly five hundred years when we visited Barrington Court in Somerset. It was built in the 1540’s and is a wonderfully preserved house, buildings, gardens… it even has a moat! It is near Ilminster, which is a town we haven’t yet visited, but intend to explore. The estate is now owned by the National Trust, an organization which holds properties and places of interest in trust for the nation; we’re members which means we can visit all these wonderful places free!

Here are some pictures I took… there will be more later showing the lovely gardens and a very special exhibition!
