I went to a celebration where we each had to bring some vegetarian food to share and I thought I would make a nice couscous… but for some reason decided millet might be nice for a change.
I gently fried some onions and leeks until they were nice and sweet, ditto some baby tomatoes, then diced some dried apricots and preserved lemons, found some toasted sesame seeds, some golden sultanas, some raw baby tomatoes, a chopped apple… and then I soaked the millet for the required ten minutes before cooking it for the twenty suggested on the packet… and then another twenty minutes… and then another ten minutes… I stirred in some olive oil and sweet chilli sauce and added all the prepared vegetables and fruit…

Just publish it as a “Brunch” recipe. 😉

What a good idea! It tasted ok but the texture was a bit solid!!

It’s amazing how things look on some posh lettuce! or little lettuce cups to eat it from. I bet it tasted good.

It actually did, it was the texture that was odd… maybe making it into little balls and rolling them in sesame seeds and putting them in lettuce cups as you suggest… great idea!

I did think of a naughtier idea – to fry them as little patties felafel style. But censored that!

Thank you for reminding me! I love quinoa… I just forget that I do! It has such a wonderful flavour and texture… next time I will definitely go with it… and before I have to make a sharing meal, I’ll have it here at home!! Thanks, Jody!
