Although I gave up teaching eighteen months ago, I still do some voluntary work with adults from other countries,… and it’s great fun!
We concentrate on English conversation, although we do also cover some common grammar, reading and comprehension… and British culture. Although we want our students to learn, we also want them to enjoy socialising, because some of them are quite isolated.
Today, because it was the last formal meeting, we had a party! We sang ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ with great gusto, we had some nice party food and we had some entertainment, a mini-concert from my very talented friend Ros Cuthbert.

Then a couple of games of pass the parcel with forfeits and prizes,a rousing rendering of the Hokey-Cokey and then it was photos, hugs and time to say goodbye until January!

What a fun way to learn and teach!
