It’s mid-day… and I’m still in my night clothes… supposing the postman calls?
Let me explain; as soon as I get up and have had a cup of tea I start writing, editing ‘Night Vision’ and writing my blog and I become so involved in what I am doing that time slips past. we had a late night last night, belatedly celebrating my husband’s birthday we went to a newish restaurant called Tutto on the seafront in Weston. We had a wonderful meal and then called in at the pub in the village; I wrote before I went to bed and I admit, I did oversleep this morning, but then up and making tea, writing, stopping to make bacon sandwiches and coffee for the family, just coffee for me and back to writing… and it’s past twelve o’clock!
Supposing the postman calls? Oh what a quandary! The solution – it’s easy, send my husband down to open the door in his pyjamas!

laughing at the solution 🙂

That’s what writers do – that’s also the beauty of having an elderly mother living with me – she loves going to see the postman.

I hope she is suitably attired!

She’s one of the old school – up and dressed with the lark. I am terrible for getting stuck into jobs and forgetting to get dressed until I have to go out.

Yes, it’s not that i don’t get up, I just get side-tracked by important stuff!

That’s me – I’m up with the birds but am so busy, if I’m in the house, I forget to get dressed.

Can’t believe I was actually preparing a blog about the same dilemma!! We should not care what we’re wearing – we’re working aren’t we! Or we could always solve the problem by just sleeping in our clothes! 🙂 x

Now that is an idea! Perhaps a onesie would be a solution!

Lois, I love reading what you have written, it often makes me laugh.
I sometimes stay in my pj’s all day the have a bath early eveing and put fresh pj’s on. I do open the door to the postman, i’m sure he’s seen a lot worse!! I have even gardened in my Pj’s dressing gown and wellies – what a sight that must have been 🙂

Gardening in pj’s – I love the idea! I actually don’t have pj’s, just nighties… gardening might be a bit drafty in a nightie!

Thanks for stopping by my post Lois.
I empathise with your dilemma – i frequently am still in my pjs at 11am or later – and yes I too send my husband to open the door to the postman as he puts a track suit over his pjs! I usually feed the birds in my dressing gown at this time of year too… just add a fleece and I’m off into the garden.
