I’m sorry to post more pictures of my beetroot soup, I am just so thrilled that after years and years of muddy sludge I’m now making soup which is delicious and almost as good as Bari’s cousin Shirley who must be the queen of soup!
She produces wonderful aromatic bowls of delight and then says ‘oh, it was just a few scraps in the fridge and some left-overs from last week’ . When asked how she makes her soup because it is always smooth and yet with the right sort of lumpy bits, she airily replies, ‘I just blitz it in the blender and heat it up…’ Does she add cornflour? No. Does she add cream or roux? No. Does she rub any of it though a sieve? No. She is just the queen of soup!

By the way, does anyone else or anyone else’s dad call soup loup-de-loup? And does anyone think Muddy Sludge would be a good name for a band?
