Our little village of Uphill has an enormous variety of styles of houses; the oldest is probably about three hundred years old – although people have lived in the area for thousands of years, and there are a couple of new properties built ever year, squeezed onto spare land here and there. We have old farm buildings, two pubs, shops, an ex-post office, a restaurant, churches, a church hall and a village hall, wharf-side properties, detached and semi-detached and terraced houses, bungalows, dormers, flats, courts and cottages and even a castle! But perhaps one of the most striking houses is just opposite the village school… just look at it, isn’t it wonderful?

I love art deco anything. those windows are amazing. There is a building here in my little city that could be a twin to yours. If ever I get a camera again, I will send a photo.

We’re very lucky! Also a lot of people take pride in their properties and keep them looking lovely!
