My Great British menu

I’ve been thinking a lot about this as I’ve been watching the series on TV. I haven’t come to any firm conclusion, except that there would have to be some game, probably pheasant, maybe sharing a plate with some hare; I love Moroccan flavours at the moment so maybe they should be cooked in a tagine but so carefully spiced as not to loose their own flavour . some nice beans of some sort to go along with them, flageolet maybe or lovely new broad beans (and contrary to fashion I like their skins left on.) There would have to be some nice green vegetables, sprouting broccoli maybe, and maybe some nice cauliflower… I wouldn’t bother with potatoes, or rice or pasta, more than enough on my plate already!

So there is the main course… shellfish for starters I think, cockles, winkles and oysters, with a nice tabbouleh, and some sort of light sauce… I need to think more about this! I’m not keen on desserts so I would skip that and have a wondrous and extensive cheeseboard!

Just remembered asparagus… now where would that go? Oh well, back to the planning again!

I think this would start the meal off nicely!
