The appalling dullness of rain

So, it’s heading towards spring, and apart from a brief, lovely, blanket of snow, it has been dreary, dull, and wet, wet, wet, since about last May. We all got hopeful here on Tuesday; we got up and the sky was that gorgeous warm blue of early spring, the sun particularly golden, and the air was warm and pleasant. The windows could be opened, and going outside with bare arms and feeling the balmy air upon your skin was like being bathed in energy and vigour! I felt recharged and ready to tackle some house cleaning, some redecorating, some gardening! I felt revitalised and awake and… and… and zippy! I felt quick and energetic and alive!

So today… it’s grey, it’s raining, it’s dull and dismal, not cold, but even a nice brisk cold would be welcome, so I guess I’ll retreat into my inner world and write, and write, and write…

Here in Melbourne we are having a run of days up the in the 30s. While it is easy to complain about the heat, I would prefer the heat and sunshine to those dreary dull days. They will be with us soon enough! I hope the sun shines on you soon. 🙂

Thank you Anne! It would be nice to be able to go outside without being all wrapped up! The heat can be oppressive though, so I hope you have some intermittent coolness, and maybe some rain at night to freshen things up!
