I’m quite astonished that I have published 900, yes nine hundred, posts, in fact this is 901! I started this blog to publicise my books, and to try to engage with those who might want to read them or have read them, and explain a little about why, how and what I write about.
As well as that I wanted to write about what makes me who I am. First of all, my family; I am so lucky to have a most marvellous, loving, fun and funny family, I am close to cousins on all sides and second and sometimes third cousins too! So I have written about my family; I have also written about other families as one of my hobbies is genealogy, and I enjoy exploring archives, censuses and other records. Music is my inspiration, it has triggered so many ideas, helped me imagine so many characters, and I have written about music I like, bands I follow, and what I listen to.
As a writer I am also a great reader, of fact and fiction, novels and poetry and I share what I enjoy, and offer thoughts on what I have not liked as much. I follow the news avidly and make comment on that too, occasionally picking up smaller local stories. One thing I love to read, recipe books, and following on from the recipes is the cooking and eating so I have written about that too. I think good food deserves to be accompanied by something to drink, so wine, beer, whisky and whiskey have featured in my posts. The best place to drink beer is in a pub, and I have a passion for pubs and have written a lot about them!
I’ve written and posted about some other things too, places, radio,TV, film and lichen… yes, lichen! I have developed quite an interest in this ubiquitous and beautiful growth! I am interested in Buddhism and have shared my thoughts and books I find interesting and inspirational.
However, my main purpose in being here is to explore my novels, those I have published, those that are in the process of coming to life as e-books, unfinished novels, and my plans for new stories.
I would like, once again, to say thank you, a big thank you, to everyone who has responded to what I have written, who has offered friendly and encouraging words, humorous and funny comments, and helpful and pertinent criticism.

I’m around 750. Best wishes for your continued success.
