As yo may know, my husband Bari is a drummer, and has been since he was a child when he built his own drum-kit out of old boxes. Now he has a proper kit, but still likes making thing, so… he has made his own cajón! He must have been in every sort of band, group, ensemble, orchestra, combo there is over the years. He started off playing with his dad, Harold in pubs; Harold was a self-taught wizard of the keyboard, usually an organ, and Bari from a very early age would accompany him. It was almost in-built that making music meant making it with other people.

Bari is currently still with the Sabres, they’ve been rocking and rolling longer than the Stones, but he is also with another fine band, the Stealers who play every sort of modern music you could imagine. To add to their repertoire (and maybe a little influenced by hearing music that I like) he decided to get a cajón, and being a creative sort,he decided to build it himself!
