Helpful comments

I have been so thrilled at the reception my latest novel, Night Vision’ has received; and I am also really grateful to comments friends have made. Because I have no  editors, or proof-readers, it is difficult to stand back from what I have written and see where there are errors, muddles or inconsistencies. I try all sorts of ways of distancing myself from my text, reading it backwards, reading it on a Kindle, printing it out and reading it on paper… but there is nothing quite as helpful as other people’s views!

My good friends Judith and Isabel have both just finished reading ‘Night Vision’ and both very kindly gave me really helpful comments. Both were about how clearly (or not) I had explained certain things in the story, and if I ever get the chance to republish ‘Night Vision’ I will use what they have said to improve it. Isabel also made a really helpful criticism about a previous book, which has made an enormous difference to how I work on my characters.

So thank you, Judith and Isabel!

I’ve been surprised that not more people have put comments on Amazon about your books. It only takes a few minutes and I nearly always try to give feedback for books I’ve bought from them.
