As Shakespeare once wrote:-“O donations, donations, wherefore art thou donations?”HiAlf Tupper here wishing you all a splendid weekend. Yes, with only five weeks to go until the 2013 London Marathon, the greatest show on earth, the sporting event of the century, the ultimate test of mankind’s physical endurance, the bad news is that those donations appear to have come to a (hopefully temporary) halt. It’s not all bad news though as my fundraising target for Weston Hospicecare has in fact been extended to £600 after the initial target of £500 was reached a week or so ago. This is very encouraging but, of course, you will all know that, secretly, I hope to raise a bit more than £500 for each charity based upon how generous you have all been with your donations in the past. Also, my initial target of £500 for the mental health charity, Mind, is still some way short of being achieved.
