When we go to Bristol, we quite often park in Clifton, opposite a fascinating building, which I’ve never really thought much about. The Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital is actually a school, an independent school for boys. It was founded as a charitable institution for the poor over five hundred years ago through a bequest by John Carr who was one of the affluent merchant venturers of Bristol. Although the present Queen is its patron, the name in honour of Queen Elizabeth I. It became a school in the 1920’s and has an excellent reputation as a place of eduction. It certainly is a very grand place, most imposing.
The view from the car park gives an idea of how big it is…
Standing in front of the gates it soars upwards.

Love Clifton. Been there many times now. Always in the park and walk down the lanes, and ofcourse cross the suspension Bridge. Miss it overthere. Miss England in general.
