I do like tea shops, even if the tea isn’t really very good and the cakes are uninteresting and the biscuits soggy, I still like tea shops. This tea shop in Minehead had nice tea, delicious cakes, and although I didn’t try the biscuits, I am sure they weren’t soggy.
Although we arrived early and there weren’t any other customers, we received a friendly welcome, and while we waited for our tea, we had a good look round at all the curiosities on display. We were overlooking the sea, and there were pictures and knicknacks to do with maritime history, including this model ship.
When our tea arrived the pot was covered with a hand-knitted cosy… it just made it all so much nicer!
The cake looked delicious, obviously home-made…

Yum! Love the teacosy too 🙂

I wish I could knit as prettily as that!

One day I will visit your lovely country and have tea in a tea shop. 😉

So many really good ones to choose from these days. Wonderful home-baked cakes everywhere, and more and more places serve real tea rather than tea-bags!
