My grandma died when I was very young, but I still remember her clearly.
I remember she had a dress, or maybe she had several which had a pattern of tiny flowers. The material was blue, I think, or maybe black or maybe it was very dark blue but it was covered in tiny, tiny flowers. I have a couple of times bought clothes with a similar pattern, I had a nightie which was black with little red and white flowers.
Now, whenever I see a pattern of flowers, particularly wild flowers growing at random with a mixture of colours, even though the background is green and bright not blue and dark, I always remember her, and that’s why I take so many similar photos of banks of tiny weeny little blooms.

I associate Englishwomen in general with lovely feminine floral print dresses, which are extremely hard to find in the USA right now! I love those small delicate flower prints.

It is a granny sort of thing though, isn’t it? My mum was a wonderful needlewoman, and used to make me such pretty dresses which fitted and flattered! I have no such skill unfortunately!
