I went to a great gig last week, to see The Mavericks in Plymouth…. more later on what a wonderful evening it was but waiting afterwards to meet the band (they always come out to see their fans, no matter how weary) I was standing by one of the Mavs when a ‘fan’ had the following conversation:
Fan: Hi, you were great, I’m in a band too.
Mav: Thanks… oh really?
Fan: Yeah we practice in the week then gig at weekends, well, most weekends.
Mav: Great… that’s great…
Fan: Yeah, we usually have a gig at a local pub
Mav: Right…
Fan: I love your new CD!
Mav: Thank you
Fan: Yes, we have a CD out too, maybe I could pass it to you, maybe you’d have a listen?
Mav: Ummm…
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the guy then went and had similar conversations with other Mavericks who were signing autographs and having photos taken…
