So last night was the best night to see the Perseid shower, a spectacular (it says here) light show of shooting stars! They happen every year in August and are the dust trail from the Swift-Tuttle comet which orbits the sun as we do.
People were deserting the pub to go up on the hill to look at them so when we got home, positioning myself in a dark spot of the garden, I looked up and…. waited…. ad waited….and – Ooooooooh! There’s one! Yes, I saw a shooting star! Apparently the best viewing, at one a minute, was at 3 o’clock in the morning!

Every time they woosh past, I’m finding myself somewhere where it’s cloudy… same yesterday..
