Thanks for this picture, Lois. My dad served for several years on HMS Dunluce Castle during WWII, a minesweeper based at Scapa Flow in the Orkneys. I have never been to the actual ruin, it’s one of the things I’m hoping to do next year, when we plan to spend a month driving round Ireland (health and continued respiration permitting).

It really is stunning – and as you are so good at photography you should get some amazing shots… we passed it last night at dusk, the last rays of the sun lit up a herd of cows and there was the castle in the background. There are some amazing things along this coast, a lot of scenes from ‘Game of Thrones’ were shot round here, including some at Ballintoy harbour another wonderful and almost secret place!
If you’re doing all of Ireland, you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to go, what to see, and what to eat!
