Reykjavik, a wonderful city

We had a week in Reykjavik but each day we went out on trips to other places so I didn’t actually see much of the city, except to know I had fallen in love; it was wonderful, full of interesting things and friendly people.

it was founded in the late 1700’s and is the world’s most northerly capital city; it is relatively small, only around 120,000 people,  which is about one third of Bristol, the nearest big city to where I live. we walked round Reykjavik, passing many interesting sights, went into the Hallgrímskirkja – a massive and most beautiful church,  met the mayor Jón Gnarr at the Ráðhús Reykjavíkur (town hall) , visited Harpa the amazing concert hall on the waterfront… oh and did so much more. But there was so much I didn’t see, so many places I didn’t go, galleries, museums, restaurants, and other places too. I definitely need to return!
