… and I did and it was fabulous! I think I had heard about the restaurant chain some time ago but first looked at a menu at their restaurant in Brindley Place, Birmingham. The restaurant wasn’t open as it was only 9:30 in the morning, but if it had have been I would have gone in right then and ordered something.
Wagamama is a chain of restaurants with Japanese style cooking, modelled on ramen bars (I would love to go to a real one some time!) There are restaurants across the UK from Ashford to York, from Aberdeen to Plymouth; they feature in every country of the UK and I visited the Belfast Wagamama last week… twice! The most difficult thing was choosing what to have from the menu but since I had first come across Wagamama when i was reading about ramen, I thought I ought to try it! Choices included teppanyaki, curry, donburi and chilli dishes as well as all the usual sides, salads, drinks and desserts.
So what did I think? I loved it! We had a friendly waiter called Barney (who was mysteriously called Sean on our second visit – unless they were twins) and another called Duane, the service was quick, the food was hot and delicious, the prices were reasonable, we sat by a window with a lovely view of the city… what more could we have wanted?
