I’m not sure I ever really was a city person, although when I lived in Manchester I loved it, and when I go back there I still love it, and when I go to Birmingham I love that too! Driving into London however, and my heart sinks; there is just so much of it, there are just soooo many people and so much traffic, it;’s just without end. However (another however) when I am actually there in London I do enjoy it, and always find lots to look at and so much that is interesting. I wouldn’t like to live there, and I’m not sure I would like to be there for more than a few days!
We were there yesterday to see the impressive exhibition about life and death in Pompeii and Herculaneum at the British Museum. No anxiety about transport because it was a coach trip and we were delivered to the gates of the museum. We had a couple of hours to wander before it was time to go in and wander we did. I have to say that London did look particularly nice and very pretty on a sunny afternoon.
