Thanks to the wonderful world of the web, it’s possible to have contact with people from any country you can think of; shared interests bring people together and then there is also that serendipity which somehow brings you into the orbit of someone and later you can’t remember why or how.
I’ve discovered authors I’d never heard of, music I didn’t know, and lots and lots of nice recipes for all sorts of different dishes. A meal which has now become a staple in the British diet is chilli con carne, and I guess like all similar recipes, every family has their own variation, and I also guess that many of the recipes used are a long way from anything like the original. Sharing recipes is part of the joy of internet contacts… and right now, simmering in my oven, is a casserole of chilli beans, recipe from Melissa!
It certainly looks and smells delicious, but Melissa says it is better if left a day before eating… so guess what we’re having for dinner tomorrow night?!
