Penny-farthing

There are so many sights to see in London, and on a sunny day, everything is brightened and shiny and splendid. We had a wonderful day in London in September and while having lunch we noticed that we were sitting opposite a shop called Thomas Farthing, a clothes and gentleman’s outfitter’s on Museum Street.

The penny-farthing bicycle outside was a big draw for photographers but  because we were sitting having lunch I could just wait until there were no people walking in front of me to take these pictures. The penny-farthing bicycle (obviously named after the coins penny and farthing!) dates from the late 1860’s… I didn’t realise they went back that far!DSCF3994
