I’m a pretty chaotic cook at the best of times, I’m also easily distracted from one thing to another… so I wanted to try out a new recipe which I’d found here:
http://grevilleacorner.wordpress.com/2013/06/19/chick-peas-green-beans-and-potatoes-dry-stir-fry/
I had soaked and cooked the chickpeas and was getting the spices together, but I was also using my new toy, my food drier:
… but instead of herbs I was drying apple rings… but to prepare the apple rings I had to core and slice the apples, then I was dipping them in honey and sesame seeds but I had decided that toasting the seeds was better, so I was toasting the sesame seeds…
Meanwhile my green tomato mincemeat was slow cooking in the oven and needed checking…
… and I had to find some jars to put it in while it was cooking. I also had to finish off the mushroom soup which I had made yesterday and needed diluting a little but I needed to do some washing up and had to clear the surfaces. But I also had to peel and slice the potatoes for the curry, ditto the onions, pepper and garlic, oh and get the runner beans from the freezer…
Then I had to rotate the apple rings and check how they were doing, oh the washing machine has stopped, I need to get the clothes out and on the airer…
I’m finished now… the curry was cooked and eaten (delicious) the mincemeat is in the jars, the mushroom soup is in the fridge, the apples are still drying… maybe I need a cup of tea!

Glad you enjoyed my chick peas recipe and I will try your green tomato mincemeat recipe if my tomato crop is good this summer 🙂 – cheers, Stephanie (Sydney Australia)

I’ll post a picture of the mincemeat tomorrow… it looks really good, very dark!

While chaotic, it sounds like you were having fun! The results must have been devious too.
