For various reasons I haven’t had any beer for about three weeks… no Otter, no beer of any sort!
I have been working so hard writing my latest novel about the Radwinter family as part of the national Novel Writing Month challenge, that I really felt I deserved a pint… or two, of nectar! We always go out late at about ten-ish, so I finished what I was writing, saved it, got ready and went galloping downstairs to find my drinking chum (husband) I looked out of the window and it was absolutely throwing it down, and it sounded worse than rain, it sounded like a hail-storm pinging off the windows. We looked out and the road was inches deep in ware and the rain/hail was coming down like stair rods. Oh despair! I stared out into the foul night…we’ve been on an economy drive so we had no beer in the house, and when you fancy a beer anything else isn’t good enough.
We sat down to watch the evening news (doom and gloom) and then I got up to go and do some more writing and glanced out of the window… it had stopped raining! Quick as a flash we put coats and shoes on and dashed out, The pub is only a few hundred yards away but the road was full of pools and puddles. We stood to the side as cars went past (rush hour in Uphill!) and the drivers very considerately drove as far from us as possible so they

didn’t splash us.
Oh joy! The Dolphin! Straight in and before you could say two pints of Otter please,, there were two pints of Otter brimming and delicious before us!
Cheers!
