My desert island’s desert island..

I’ve written before about ‘Desert Island Discs’, the radio programme where well-known people choose eight records they would take to a desert island if they were stranded on one… Now I know everyone has their own personal favourites which they love and have so much meaning for them, but those favourites might be the songs or music that  someone else might be glad to leave behind on the shipwreck and never hear again. I would consign certain songs and music to a desert island, in the hope that I never have to hear them ever again!

I’m sorry if any of these are your favourites, but here are the records I would consign to my desert island’s desert island:

  1. Je Ne Regrette Rien, Edith Piaf
  2. It’s a Wonderful World, Louis Armstrong
  3. I Did it My Way, Frank Sinatra
  4. Angel, Robbie Williams
  5. Are You Lonesome Tonight, Elvis Presley
  6. New York, Alicia Keys
  7. Fairy Tale of New York, Kirsty McColl and the Pogues
  8. Brick in the Wall, Pink Floyd
