Look what’s in my bag!

Photo0667[1]I went shopping today and came back with some lovely beetroot because I had seen a recipe for beef and beetroot… however when I came to read it there were rather a lot of stock cubes used, one rubbed into the beef and then two more added to the casserole… also as well as beetroot it had carrots which made it sound rather sweet… so I improvised and did my own recipe, which is now slow-cooking in the oven (it does look an alarmining colour!!)

I gently fried a couple of medium-sized onions, then added strips of beef (about 12 ounces) and browned it. I had some left over celery soup, so that went in and then I added one and a half peeled cubed raw beetroot… I added a little more stock, and into the slow oven. I’ll taste it later, adjust the seasoning if necessary, and then we’ll see what it tastes like!
