The wind is howling round our house, and I can hear things breaking outside. The sea is about a quarter of a mile away, and we are quite safe because of our excellent sea defences, but I wonder what it is like further down the coat, at Porlock Weir, for example?

Hi Lois, I own a property near the harbour in St Ives. It is up a steep hill from the harbour so it won’t get flooded, but I guess the high winds could cause damage.

I haven’t heard or seen any news about St Ives, so maybe it is tucked away out of the full force of the wind and the sea – I hope so!
