Diet day

Having done so well last year on our 5:2 diet, my husband in particular lost two stone, we seem to have flagged. We have stuck to it but in a rather loose way so the ‘fast days’ are not quite as strict as maybe they should be and the result is obvious! My husband is still quite trim but a few pounds have crept on; it hasn’t just been diet though, the weather over the winter hasn’t encouraged exercise or going out for walks. But me… oh dear…

But we have a lovely blue skyed day so it’s just right for going out and doing something, and maybe it will revitalise our commitment to watching what we eat!

With diets and exercise you reach what is called a plateau. That is a point where no more change occurs whether you starve yourself or workout twice as hard. It is frustrating and you seem to have reached an impasse. Sometimes you can even gain a little weight but don’t despair.Like I warn the ladies at the YMCA though { don’t throw your fat pants away} I bought a talking bathroom scale a few years ago and when I first stood on it the thing said one at a time please. Not anymore though!
