The cloaked man

Bristol 4th May (4)In Bristol the other day and we walked past this piece of sculpture that we have driven past a dozen times. It is a man on a horse with an inquisitive expression (the man’s expression, the horse just looked slightly bored and restless) There is a little plaque nearby telling us that he is the Cloaked Horseman, a bronze sculpture by David Blackhouse, but it tells us nothing more. it is near the entrance to the old St Bartholomew’s Hospital, if that has any relevance, and just by Christmas Steps which I wrote about yesterday.

I looked up  cloaked men and found a lot of references to people dreaming about them, seeing ghosts of the, and just fearing them in general. There was also an Islamic text referring to a cloaked man.He also crops up in various computer games.
