Ages ago, probably about six or seven years ago I went to a gig to see one of my all time favourite singers… I won’t say who, but he was awful, and I was so disappointed! In fact he was so bad we left halfway through, embarrassed by his performance… and so did about a third of the audience. Maybe he was just having an off night, but really it was dreadful!
Luckily there was a really brilliant support act. I bought their album at the interval and told them how good I thought they were. For some reason I thought about them a few days ago and remembered the song they had sung which made the most impact on me – having everything a good song should have, a story in the clever lyric, a good melody, and a great performance – much better than the so-called star of the evening.
Having thought about them, I found them on YouTube, and here they are, John and Wayne with the story of how one of them ‘nearly killed Keith’. This video is from a live performance so there is a bit of banter at the beginning, which shows what a great act they are… maybe they will come n tour again down this way… but f they were anyway near enough, I’d travel to see them!
