I’m starting another on-line course, a MOOC, a massive open on-line course. I have completed and thoroughly enjoyed two courses already, one through Coursera and one through FutureLearn. I studied Archaeology’s Dirty Little secrets with Coursera, and it was brilliant! I learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, the videos, the documents, the exercises we were given, the communication with other students… it was just excellent, and I know it has run again, and may do another time so if you are interested in archaeology I really, really recommend it!
The second course I did was with Futurelearn and it was on Shakespeare and His World; I studied Shakespeare all through my education, right through to degree level and I have been fascinated by his plays so have seen them performed in the theatre, on TV and on film. I have also taught Shakespeare, so I thought I knew a fair bit… but the FutureLearn was amazing, it offered insights and modern scholarship and added many, many more levels of understanding. If you have the least interest in Shakespeare, and you don’t have to have studied him or know very much about him at all, then once again I really do recommend you look at the possibility of doing this course if it is repeated.
Now I am embarking on a third course, again with Futurelearn, and this time it is on Forensic Psychology, of which I know very little, apart from what I have seen on TV dramas, read about in novels and in newspaper articles. Apparently we shall be studying a crime and trying to solve it, as well as learning much more! it sounds really fascinating, and I’m really looking forward to it. It lasts for eight weeks…. I’ll let you know how I get on!

I will be really interested to know how you go with the Forensic Psychology unit Lois.
