Marine Cove

The First World war had all sorts of effects on those countries who were involved in it; it is easy to look back and see the dreadful events which took place in Belgium and france, the terrible cost of life, the ghastly life-changing injuries which hundreds of thousands of men endured. It is easy to understand the effects on the depleted population left behind

The Great War between 1914 and 1918 bought a halt to the development of many towns and cities; however the immediate post war period marked  a new optimism and in Burnham-on Sea one of the demonstration of this optimism was the building of Marine Cove.
