Sometimes there is a song which is just miraculous… how could anyone have combined that melody with those lyrics? “Air that I breathe”, by y Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood is such a song. They recorded it originally in 1972 on their album ‘It Never Rains in Southern California’; however in Britain it was the Hollies who made it a super hit in 1974 – in fact I thought they had written it.Other people who have covered it are the Everley Brothers, Olivia Newton-John, The Shadows, Hank Williams Jr., Julio Iglesias, Judy Collins – and of course Barry Manilo.
