A new series has started on TV; it’s called Grantchester which is actually the name of a real small village very near Cambridge. However in the series it is the setting for a fictional vicar who becomes an amateur sleuth in the 1950’s. It is based on books by James Runcie, The Grantchester Mysteries. I’ve only watched the first episode; as i was born and brought up in Cambridge I was chiefly interested to see my home town… I have to say I enjoyed it the episode I saw, a gentle rather sweet story even though it contained a murder. I’ll watch it again, to see Cambridge, to see the river, and because it was actually an enjoyable programme!
My featured image is of my mum in the 1940’s, on a river which may well be the Granta!

I watched the first and second episodes. So far so good 🙂
