I was talking to someone about writing today, and they were asking how it was going and I said slowly at the moment. I suddenly had an image of me crossing water using stepping-stones, and I was moving slowly and cautiously but had got to a part where there were several different stones I could choose to step on which might lead in different directions. Maybe I would end up stepping on most of them to get to where I wanted, or maybe I’d miss a few out, and maybe if I wasn’t careful I could end up way downstream, or way upstream… and then maybe have to retrace my steps! Maybe I might end up to my ankles in icy water!
I thought this was quite a good analogy… at the moment I’m maybe being a little too hesitant, maybe I ought to just get a grip and stride out, from stone to stone, and see where I end up!

Just be careful of the stones with lichen on them as there awful slippery. You might come a cropper!

Tee-hee… it would be very cold too… and I might damage the lichen!
