We’re in the semi-final stages of Professional Masterchef and it is so exciting! There is a new format this series; maybe that is to do with having anew judge, Marcus Wareing or maybe it is just the way the series evolves over the years. I like the present format very much, and I think part of the reason is that it gives the view a chance to get to ‘know’ the chefs taking part.
I know the programme is carefully edited, and I know we only see what the production team want us to see, so maybe certain things are dramatised to make it more exciting, but I still feel that we get an insight into the individuals in the competition.
The initial rounds had the chefs cooking their own dishes, do skills tests, invention tests and competing with each other in a group of six or so and then through knock-outs reducing the number to two. Then all twelve of those chefs cooked against each other again in various ways, until we have the final eight. In this latest round, two individuals are sent to a top restaurant to work and cook, and then they go head to head with each other.
They have all seemed such nice people, and such interesting cooks that it has been an edge-of-the-seat viewing experience… and we’re never sure of the outcome until the winner of this round is announced
It is the last two cooks against each other tonight, and then next week is final’s week!

It’s a pity we can’t watch it in Germany, it sounds good and tasty! 🙂
Have fun, Dina x

It is so interesting to see these chefs who have been working in kitchens sometimes for more than ten years, be challenged to do something different and improve their cooking! It’s a competition, but there is also the idea that they should learn as well as compete!
