Three gigs in three weeks…

No, I haven’t been gigging, but thanks to the generosity of my daughter, and thanks to a favourite singer performing in Bristol, I was lucky enough to go out three times in three weeks!

Number 1 was going to Bath to see the baker Paul Hollywood on tour. Although i really like watching him on TV and enjoy all the things he demonstrates, as well as seeing him and Mary judge the competitors in The Great British Bake-Off, I wasn’t sure how it would work seeing him and him alone on stage… baking! well, it was amazing – he was amazing! My husband who came along to be companionable really enjoyed it too. It was interesting to see him demonstrating, he was naturally funny, and told some wonderful stories about his family, childhood and career as well as talking about Bake-Off.Thank you, daughter for the tickets!

Then, home from Iceland, the Icelandic singer Ásgeir came to Bristol. I love his music, but again, wondered what he would be like live. It was a great venue, The Fleece in Bristol, great support, Tenterhook and Lay Low, and then Ásgeir himself, only twenty-two years old, what talent!

IMG_20141204_221416And lastly, Rodrigo y Gabriela; the slogan above them is remembering the forty-three young Mexicans who have been ‘disappeared’, and calling for justice for them… If you get the chance to see Rod and Gab, go!!!
