For no reason I decided to treat myself, and I bought a bracelet from El Camino Bracelets… Their idea is to have a bracelet of travel souvenirs, so they have a plain band (of various colours) and then ‘charms’ with the name of every country, lots of regions, areas, cities engraved on them. You can also have your own personal message engraved.
Part of the fun of the whole thing is choosing… I guess the idea is aimed at young people who travel and they collect charms from the different countries they travel to as they go along. I know my daughter has it in mind to travel for a while after Uni and get charms as she goes along as souvenirs of her adventures.
I thought about all the countries I’ve visited… and a long list of European countries, France, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Monaco… and then further afield to the USA and to Singapore… And in the end I decided on Iceland and Northern Ireland.
Then I wanted to personalise it, so I chose two lyrics which have become sort of mottoes for me, ‘O what a thrill’ and ‘All along this road’, the first from the Mavericks the second from The Glade.
I love my bracelet, really love it, thank you El Camino!
