Our Dutch friends always find interesting places to take us and interesting things to show us when we visit them in Noord Brabant. However, this year they weren’t sure whether we would like to see the exhibition of sand sculptures at the nearby city of Oss. We said we’d very much like to see them as we had enjoyed visiting our own town’s similar exhibition on Weston beach.
We were astounded at what we saw – we had been impressed by the sculptures in Weston, but the ones in Oss were, in our opinion, superior – not just in skill and technique, but also in the imagination of the sculptors.
This montage showed a stone-age village and family, the father on the left had been fishing and caught a large fish, the mother and children were gathered near the shelter where they had a fire, ready to cook dinner!
Unfortunately I didn’t look at the name of the artist, but it really was a magnificent piece.
