A couple of days ago I mentioned the family cook book we made quite a few years ago now; I thought it was about time to make another and then I had an amazing idea, to make copies for my cousins for Christmas… heck! not long to do that, but if I choose recipes I have recently tried and know work well, then that takes the practice cooking element out of the equation, and I already have the recipes written down. So it would just be organizing and printing and binding… should be possible!
Just as a rough plan, I have sorted out twenty recipes, and grouped them vaguely… here are my thoughts:
- beetroot tarts
- root soup
- Somerset braised beef
- Cornish pasty
- sprouts
- courgette fritters
- tartiflette
- bulgur wheat pesto style
- toor dahl
- coleslaw
- pesto
- corn bread
- Madeira cake
- cider cake
- brownies
- melting moments aka cookies
- easter biscuits
- gluten-free choc buns
- gluten-free scones
- home-made yoghurt
I don’t know if I should have equal number of recipes for each section, so five starters, five mains, five cakes and buns, five other things… At the moment there are two starters, three meaty mains, two veggie mains, two savoury ‘other’, two cakes, three biscuits and buns, two gluten-free, and yoghurt…
I must think about this!
