Rain and tears

I wrote about Pachelbel’s Canon and it’s influence on an inspiration for so many other pieces of music. Once you recognise the chord progression of this seventeenth century canon, then you can’t avoid hearing it in all sort of different pieces of music. Johann Pachelbel who was born  in Nuremberg in Germany in 1653 probably wrote a great deal of other music; he] was not just a composer but also an organist and teacher a teacher.

How far removed he is in so many ways from Aphrodite’s Child, a Greek band who were popular in the late 1960’s and early seventies. They were  Vangelis Papathanassiou, Demis Roussos, Loukas Sideras and Silver Koulouris. They made three albums before, as with many bands, they went their separate ways.
