You might think this trio of famous men have something in common, but what could it be? Sir Isaac Newton 1643 – 1727, was a mathematician, astronomer, and physicist; he is accepted as being one of the most influential scientists of all time. Rhett Butler was a fictional character created by Margaret Mitchell in her famous book, ‘Gone With The Wind’, and most often associated with the actor who played him in the film, Clarke Gable. Robert ‘Rob’ Roy MacGregor born in 1671 and died in 1734,was a Scottish outlaw and folk hero; he was an actual real person, who joined the Jacobite rising led by Bonnie Dundee, in support of the Stuart King, James II who had fled Britain.
A scientist, a fictional Southern gentleman fighting against the Union of northern states, and a Scottish folk hero and rebel… Well they may actually have something in common, but the only thing I know is that they are all cocktails!
Newton’s Apple Cocktail

- strain into chilled cocktail glasses
Rhett Butler Cocktail

Rob Roy Cocktail (Scottish Manhattan)

We could go to the drive-in movie. We would catch them by surprise. With a roar from my engine and that twinkle in your eyes. Young and crazy and hungry for some fun. Look out world we’ve only just begun!
