I was so sad to hear of the death of France Gall. She was a French singer who came to international attention because of the Eurovision Song Contest in which she sang and won in 1966 with Poupée de Son. At the time, when she won the competition I loved her voice and was completely captivated – however, in those days apart form buying the single there was no way i could find out any more about her or her other songs. I had a French penfriend at the time and she was not very interested in France Gall.
From what I have read about her today, she seems to have been a wonderful person of integrity and courage. Au revoir, France Gall
