I came across this photo in a junk shop in Dorset; these men had such interesting faces, and I liked the way they looked out of the photo in such an engaged way. Railwaymen, but who were they? Why are they so grim – did they hate the photographer? Who is the chap at the back in the centre with the dog? How did the man on the left lose his arm?
I could find out more about the company they worked for, and the jobs they had but can I ever find out about them, or should I used my imagination?
If you haven’t read any of my stories – which all come from my imagination, sometimes triggered by images like this, then here is a link to my books!

Please let me know what you think of my novels, and I would really appreciate your comments on Amazon!

I guess you were not allowed to smile for a company picture. Work is supposed to be serious business.
