Still funny? Yes, I think so!

When we were children we didn’t have a television but our parents took us to the cinema fairly regularly. We saw all the musicals and I remember ‘Calamity Jane’ and loving it – even though now from our twenty-first century perspective some of it is no longer even funny; the ‘Road’ movies, Bob Hope films, but above all, Danny Kaye. I remember literally crying with laughter, weeping with hilarity… watching his films now I don’t laugh like that but I still find it so amusing, in a sweet and innocent way…
