Recently I’ve mentioned the different ideas I have to try and write something – I mentioned my randomly generated word lists, and I also find a similarly random list from doing a popular word puzzle, Octordle.
Put your skills to the test and solve eight word games at once! You have 13 guesses to solve all eight words. A new Octordle available each day to solve.
As well as the daily puzzle there are endless practice octordles to challenge yourself with. Imagine eight grids of thirteen lines down and five lines across. You are trying to find eight five letter words, one in each grid. You make your first guess of a five letter word and write it in and it appears in the eight grids. If there is a correct letter in the correct position the little square it’s in goes green. If it is a correct letter in an incorrect position, it goes yellow. Using what you’ve discovered, you make a second guess – you may have some letters in their correct place, plus some correct letters in the wrong place. You are trying to find the eight words simultaneously so you have to keep a track of the different grids! The fewer the guesses to find the words the better, the lower the total/score the better!
It sounds very complicated, and at first it is, but then you get the hang of it and can become strategic. I warn you though, it can be addictive! However, I also use Octordles to create a list which I try to include in a story or other piece I’m writing. For example, I completed a practice game, and this was my result:
