“Where are you?”
“I don’t know, I’m not sure.”
“What can you see?”
“Not much, it’s quite dark.”
“Are you safe?”
“I’m not sure, there’s no-one here, but…”
“So you’re alone – there’s no-one with you, or near you?”
“I don’t think so, I don’t know.”
“What sort of place are you in – are you inside, or are you outside?
“I think it’s underneath somewhere, it’s not outside.”
“Are you in a building? What sort of building is it? Are there windows, can you see anything out of the windows?”
“I don’t know, it might be a building, I’m underneath something, I’m not outside, there aren’t any windows.”
“Are you injured in any way? Are you hurt?”
“I don’t know, it’s a bit difficult to tell. It’s flooded.”
“Uh – flooded? You’re in water? What do you mean? … Can you describe where you are – is it a building?”
“It’s a building but it’s big, I don’t really know, I can’t remember…”
“Just stay calm, I know that’s difficult, but try to stay calm. We’re doing all we can to find you.”
“Don’t go away!”
“I won’t, I’ll be here as long as you need me to. Have you remembered your name?”
“I’m lying on something, on like a board, it’s in the water, I can’t move – I might fall off, it’s dark!”
“What’s your name? I’m Julie, and my colleagues are looking for you right now, they’re going to find where you are and they’ll be with you as soon as they can.”
“I don’t know where I am, I don’t remember…”
“Can you hear anything? Can you hear anything in the building, or anything from outside?
“I can hear the water moving, like trickling noises, I think I’m on something like wood, I daren’t move.”
“Can you hear any voices? Can you hear any vehicles?”
“Wait! It might be a helicopter!”
“Is it getting louder?”
“I think so – but don’t go away, don’t leave me!”
“I’ll stay here with you as long as you need me to. Were you with any other people, was anyone with you before?”
“I don’t know, I don’t remember, I don’t know where I am…”
“Try and stay calm, you’re doing so well, my colleagues are not far away but it might take them a little longer to reach you.”
“Please help me, please, please help me…”
“Keep talking to me, my colleagues will be with you soon… keep talking to me.
“I will, but it’s dark, it’s so dark…”
“We know where you are, we’ll be with you soon…”
