If you’re a regular visit here, you may well guess what I’m about to write from my featured image. I’ve shared a picture of a black cat, and from that many people will guess I’m referring to The Black Cat, a wonderful pub in Weston-super-Mare.
We are a micropub that absolutely will not ever compromise on the quality of the products we sell, albeit cask and craft ales and lager, fine wine, artisan gins and spirits, a massive range of excellent cider, and the best (and unusual) bar snacks sensible money can buy. We pride ourselves on customer service, and are passionate about what we sell. Come and see why everyone that visits us, loves us. You will absolutely not be disappointed. We have just been awarded CAMRA’s Cider Pub of the year runner-up, the highest accolade any Weston pub has ever been awarded.
We’re fortunate enough to have a chauffeur living at home with us at present, so we were taken into town, disembarked outside the Cat and were able to modestly enjoy ourselves without consideration of what we should drink. We had a couple of very fine pints, but unfortunately we don’t recall which particular brew we were drinking. With a pub like the Black Cat, all the pints you consume are well kept and fine, so you could very well drink something which is not exactly to your taste, but is still a damn fine beer. Whatever we drank (maybe Purity?) was an excellent ale, completely to our taste, and very much enjoyed.
We summoned our chauffeur, finished our ale, stepped outside and into our carriage. A simple night, a very pleasant night (no background music, only the sound of drinks being poured and the customers chatting) and one we think we may repeat more regularly. Our only regret? That we forgot to message Black Cat regular, crime writer and friend Brian Price that we dropping in in case he could join us!
